The commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin, visited yesterday (Monday) a battalion exercise in the 228th Brigade, accompanied by the brigade's commander, Colonel Yaniv Malka. The fighters practiced an attack in Lebanon as part of increased preparedness.
Northern Command Commander Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin: "The exercise we are in is part of the importance of increasing our preparedness to expand the fighting and attack on Lebanon. We are more prepared for this than we have ever been, for today night if we need to, and we will continue to strengthen preparedness and preparations going forward. On October 7th we went to war, a war for our home. You all showed up long before we called on you to do this defensive mission."

Gordin added: "Even now, tens of thousands of soldiers are deployed to defend Lebanon's northern border. We hit a lot of squads on the other side, more than 150 squads that were damaged and a lot of capabilities that were taken. We deal a lot with negating Hezbollah's capabilities, peeling back Hezbollah's capabilities and pushing it back. There is much more to be done in order to succeed in bringing about the desired result of improved security so that we can bring the residents of the north back to their homes."
