Pope Francis wants to go to Vietnam,the Vatican's 'foreign minister' Msgr Paul Richard Gallaghersaid after Francis met a delegation from the VietnameseCommunist Party at the Vatican on Thursday.
"The Pope wants to go and the Catholic community there alsowants him to go. It would be a good message for that region",said Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.
"It was a positive meeting (with the Communist delegation),relations with the Holy See are growing and we are hopeful thatthe Catholic community will benefit.
"We hope to encourage them towards greater religious freedom,"Gallagher added, announcing, "I will go in April," "then(Secretary of Stata Cardinal Pietro) Parolin in the course ofthe year, we will do things gradually."
