The phone rings desperately in vain.
Normally, the people on the other end of the line are no longer able to answer: their real estate agency has gone bankrupt.
In 2023, there will be 887 in this case, more than double than in 2022. Certainly, this represents less than 3% of the total number of real estate agencies in France.
But at this rate, the peak of the 2009 financial crisis, i.e. more than 1,200 bankruptcies, could be exceeded in the first half of the year, according to Thierry Millon, director of studies at Altares, a company specializing in business data.
