The world elite meets at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
It's about the problems of the world.
Afterwards, many people go to lavish parties.
Davos – At the World Economic Summit this week, the leaders of politics and business are coming together in Switzerland.
At the summit, the aim is to discuss the world's problems and, if possible, solve them.
This year there are real greats like Volodymyr Selenskyj, China's Prime Minister Li Qiang, Annalena Baerbock, Emmanuel Macron, Open AI founder Sam Altman and Bill Gates.
In addition, a large number of less prominent guests from business and politics and their entourage arrive.
2,800 participants were expected in advance.
But after the discussions and meetings during the day, dinner parties, receptions and concerts follow for many and, for some, all-nighters.
In a recent article, the Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica
speaks of a “more sinful” Davos with champagne, parties, lavish dinners and dance events
.
The
New York Post
reports on “caviar, magic mushrooms, gold leaf desserts”, secret dinners and the almost massive use of escort ladies.
Secret parties in Davos: champagne, magic mushrooms and plenty of world stars
At the big parties in Davos, it is almost traditional for the big music stars to appear in a small setting.
In 2020, visitors were able to marvel at Lenny Kravitz on stage.
Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas is also mentioned as a regular guest by the
New York Post
.
Nile Rodgers and Cool and Dre were expected to be potential music acts alongside him this year.
Whether they actually occurred remains an open question.
After all, most Davos parties take place behind closed doors.
Only a little gets outside.
Nothing is known about the guest list for the celebrations.
And there may be reasons for that.
Davos becomes the escort capital during the World Economic Forum
The enormous need for escort ladies during the World Economic Summit has been known for years.
The “local service providers” were “completely booked” this week, the owner of the matching platform “Titt4Tat” confirmed to the Swiss portal
20min
this week .
The escort expert's explanation: The women of the Davos participants often stay at home.
Alcohol and parties would then also account for the high demand.
It's less about physical relationships per se, he explains.
Most men would use the service to experience the so-called “Girlfirend Experience”, i.e. the pretense of an intimate relationship.
Davos parties are now becoming too colorful even for party kings - “I found it disgusting”
And drugs are also said to be playing an increasingly important role.
According to
Repubblica
, “a typical Silicon Valley custom” appears to have been imported to Davos: microdosing psychedelic drugs.
The satellite event “Psychedelic House of Davos” took place in 2022.
According to the report, the drugs are used in small quantities to relax and combat stress.

The hustle and bustle in Davos is now getting too colorful for Zurich event and party king Reto Hanselmann.
He is no longer renting out his luxury apartment during this time, he reports to Schweizer
Blick
.
This means he forgoes income of 20 to 30,000 francs – in just one week.
But in the previous years he had had “very unpleasant experiences,” said Hanselmann.
He had to fetch underwear from the pool and collected condom packets under the bed.
“I found that disgusting,” said the event organizer, who now prefers the “pristine privacy” of his apartment.
