Work on the A 94 between Markt Schwaben and Ostkreuz begins on Monday, January 22nd.

Significant traffic disruptions must be expected.

District

- Last year cost drivers a lot of nerves on the A 94 between Hohenlinden and Markt Schwaben.

A major construction site to resurface the roadway led to significant traffic restrictions with correspondingly long traffic jams.

The new year won't get any better, the construction site just moves further towards Ostkreuz.

Just one track towards Munich

As the Southern Bavaria motorway announced on Friday, January 19th, work is now underway to renew the roadway between the Munich-East motorway junction and Markt Schwaben.

The construction of construction site traffic management will begin next Monday, January 22nd.

From then on there is only one lane in the direction of Munich.

According to Autobahn Südbayern, construction will be completed by the end of February.

It would happen gradually, and individual lanes would have to be narrowed and closed again and again.

Because of the temperatures below freezing at night, the yellow construction site markings could only be applied during the day, it was said.

To do this, one lane in the direction of Munich must be closed during the day on Monday, January 22nd.

“Significant traffic disruptions are to be expected.

It is recommended to avoid unnecessary journeys, to consider alternative means of transport and to plan sufficient time reserves,” said a spokesman for the Südbayern Autobahn.

A 94: New roadway is coming “in a sophisticated system”

To ensure that two lanes are available in both directions during construction work, the renovation is being carried out “in a sophisticated system with alternating main traffic routes”.

On the side of the highway where no work is being done there are three lanes - two in one direction and one in the opposite direction - and on the other side of the road traffic drives through the construction site in a single lane.

The road in the direction of Passau is to be renewed from March to June.

In construction phase 1, the right side of the road will be renewed in March and April and, after the construction site traffic routing has been converted, the left side of the road in the direction of Passau will be renewed in construction phase 2 from May to June.

From July to November, the renewal of the roadway in the direction of Munich will take place in construction phases 3 and 4. In construction phase 3, according to the Southern Bavaria Motorway, the right side of the roadway in the direction of Munich will be renovated in the months of July to September and after the construction site traffic routing will take place in the Construction phase 4 from September to November with the renewal of the left side of the road in the direction of Munich marks the completion of the fundamental renovation.

The Parsdorf junction will be completely closed twice

As it was said on Friday, January 19th, it was technically unavoidable to close the Parsdorf junction for a period of almost two weeks during the renovation work in the junction area.

The diversions took place via the Anzing or Feldkirchen junction.

Specifically, the following closure times are planned: Closure of entrances and exits in the direction of Passsau: Monday, April 8th, to Friday, April 19th.

Closure of entrances and exits in the direction of Munich: Monday, August 19th to Friday, August 30th.

In order to reduce a backlog on the A 99, the connecting ramp coming from Nuremberg towards Passau at the Munich-Ost motorway junction will be closed and traffic will be redirected via the Feldkirchen junction.

The diversion will be signposted and the traffic lights at the Feldkirchen junction will be adjusted.
