The Wolfratshausen Green Party politician Dr.

Hans Schmidt and his wife Lucia were invited.

Significantly more participants came than the organizers had expected.

Wolfratshausen – “It’s enough”: For the first time, Angela Röttig from Wolfratshausen and her brother Johannes decided to personally take part in a demonstration against the right.

The siblings, like another 30 women and men, took part in the vigil on Friday morning, which was organized by Green City Councilor Dr.

Hans Schmidt and his wife Lucia had organized.

Lucia Schmidt made it clear with a poster what she thinks of the Alternative for Germany.

For them, AfD means: “Nightmare for Germany.”

AfD “a nightmare for Germany”: Vigil against the right in Wolfratshausen

On this very day 82 years ago, on January 20, 1942, at the invitation of SS Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich, high-ranking officials of the Nazi regime met in a villa on Berlin's Wannsee for a “meeting followed by breakfast.”

In detail, the participants organized the systematic mass murder of millions of Jews in Europe.

They agreed on technical and bureaucratic responsibilities and callously determined how many freight trains had to be provided in order to be able to transport women, men and children to concentration camps.

A genocide planned over coffee, cognac and pastries.

A good 80 years later, the research network “Correktiv” reports on a secret meeting between AfD politicians and right-wing extremists.

The topic in the conspiratorial group in Potsdam: the expulsion of millions of people with a migrant background from Germany.

Schmidt thinks this is “unspeakable”.

What pleases the Green city councilor: He had expected “five to ten people” at the vigil, and in a short time the number of participants rose to over 30.

“Getting people out of the social media bubble.”

Angela Röttig wants to take a stand against right-wing extremism and anti-Semitism.

“Everyone has to ask themselves what they can do.” It is not enough to wait for others to stand up and stand up to the AfD.

“Everyone can do something,” emphasizes the woman from Wolfratshausen.

It starts with conversations with family and friends, with work colleagues and sports mates.

For Hans Schmidt, too, “the most important thing is to talk to people.”

One goal must be to “get people out of the social media bubble.”

By the way, Schmidt himself has nothing to do with this “anti-social media,” as he himself says.

Schmidt: The AfD “denies climate change”

He and his wife, who are supported by members of the Wolfratshausen branch of the Federal Nature Conservation Association and representatives of the “Wor for Future” initiative, distribute flyers to passers-by.

There are excerpts from the AfD's election program - and the possible consequences if these demands are put into practice.

The alternative for Germany denies climate change and continues to rely on coal, oil and gas to generate energy.

The consequence: “The earth’s overheating will increase,” says Hans Schmidt.

“Civilization” will no longer exist in 2050.

In addition, the AfD advocates a “reversal of the EU,” which, according to Schmidt, would trigger a massive economic crisis and lead to a serious “loss of prosperity.”

The “remigration and deportation” of migrants discussed at the secret meeting in Potsdam by AfD politicians and right-wing extremists not only reminds Schmidt of the darkest chapter in German history.

He points out that such an approach would result in a “massive labor shortage, a massive reduction in tax revenue and thus a massive loss of prosperity”.

Schmidt's conclusion: Voting for the AfD means "more money for the wealthy - but the environment, democracy, economy, prosperity and pensions are destroyed."

What exactly can farmers expect if the AfD comes to power?

The Democrats need to “create a counterweight” as quickly as possible.

Schmidt appeals to those attending the vigil to “ask questions.”

What consequences would a political shift to the right have?

For example, what exactly would farmers have to expect if the AfD came to power?

Two more pieces of advice: “Don’t appear aggressive” in discussions, but rather remain objective – and don’t just read shortened headlines, instead study the AfD’s party program in detail.

The Green politician reacts with skepticism to the calls to ban the Alternative for Germany.

He suspects that the party will style itself as a victim in this case.

Schmidt considers an “argumentative debate” with representatives of the AfD to be more productive.

Further rallies against the right in Wolfratshausen are to follow

The vigil on Friday was “a starting signal,” said the Wolfratshauser.

Rallies like this should continue in the rafting town.

A demonstration march through Bad Tölz has been registered with the district office for this Sunday (January 21st).

“The protest is directed against right-wing extremism and the Alternative for Germany,” explains the press spokeswoman for the district office, Sabine Schmid.

It starts at 2 p.m. at the Winzerer Monument on Marktstrasse.

Around 200 participants are expected.
