Since 2011, the Sultanate of Oman has been working to transform the small coastal town of Duqm into a gigantic multi-purpose port with global influence, with the added bonus of an international airport, a gigantic refinery and a luxurious tourist and residential complex... To carry out this titanic project, the Omani authorities chose to partner with the port of Lorient (Morbihan) - the leading French fishing port in terms of value -, through a consortium responsible for the construction of the superstructures then management during 28 years of the fishing branch of the port of Duqm.
