A man was arrested in Croatia on Friday for human trafficking after a chase in the capital, Zagreb.
This 31-year-old Moldovan was transporting 32 migrants in a van, two of whom were slightly injured when he hit a police car.
The driver refused to stop during a police check on the highway linking Zagreb to Split.

In defiance of the Highway Code, he continued to drive through Zagreb
,” and ended up entering a police car, according to a press release from the police.
This 31-year-old Moldovan was arrested for human trafficking.
It was carrying 32 migrants, police said, two of whom were slightly injured.
Croatia, a member country of the European Union which joined the Schengen area in 2023, is located on the “
Balkan route
” used by those trying to reach Europe.
Between January and October 2023, nearly 63,000 people entered the country illegally - mainly Afghans, Turks, Moroccans and Pakistanis, according to official figures.
