Bands, singer-songwriters, rappers and other musicians are still being sought for the Hammersound Festival 2024.

A district-wide band contest selects the artists.

District - After the successful events in 2018 and 2022, the third Hammersound Festival will take place in the Weilheim-Schongau district on July 26th.

The live act is organized by the municipal youth work in the district office in cooperation with the youth centers and the district youth ring.

As a first step, a district-wide band contest will take place in April, for which young musicians can apply until February 15th.

The selection of participants takes place in the spring.

The winning bands can play at the youth festival in Peißenberg.

District-wide band contest: audience and jury evaluate performances

“In 2022, over 2,000 visitors came despite the pouring rain,” says Wolfgang Herz, district youth worker at municipal youth work.

“This year we want to bring young bands from the district onto the stage again in order to promote them and the regional cultural scene among young people.

We look forward to original applications from talented young musicians.”

Three artists (bands, singer-songwriters, rappers, etc.) will perform per contest (April 13th Juze Peiting, April 20th Juze Weilheim, April 27th Juze Penzberg).

Each performance lasts a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 40 minutes.

The evaluation is carried out by the audience and a selected jury.

At the end, the winner will be announced on that evening, who will then be able to perform at the Hammersound Festival and also receive a music workshop at the P.OBB laboratory in the Upper Bavaria district.

Bands should bring their own program to the stage

The application criteria are: Own program of at least 30 minutes (no cover songs), a member of the music group must be younger than 27 years, a band member must be from the Weilheim-Schongau district or from the surrounding area (70 km as the crow flies from Peißenberg) .

Please include the following information: band name/artist name, name, age and number of band members, two demo songs (can also be rehearsal room recordings or a You Tube link), short biography (Where are you from? Who are you? Since when do you exist?).
