The general director of the Erfurt Theater, Guy Montavon, has been temporarily on leave.
The city administration justified the decision on Friday with the investigation report from a Berlin law firm.
The background to the report are allegations of alleged sexual assault and alleged abuse of power at the Erfurt Theater.
It is not yet known who the allegations are specifically directed against, nor is the extent of the allegations.
Erfurt - The report provides grounds for a more in-depth examination of the incidents listed therein, which, among other things, affect the theater's management culture, the city's statement said.
Further details were not provided upon request.
Montavon explained: “Thorough, professional information is absolutely important.
However, she is also very sensitive, which is why I ask for prudence.” In particular, the personal rights of those involved must be protected.
In addition to the theater director, the administrative director Angela Klepp-Pallas was also released at short notice.
The workforce was informed about this by the city on Friday.
Montavon and Pallasch have been relieved of their duties until the next city council meeting on February 7th, it was said.
The allegations of abuse at the Erfurt Theater were made public last fall by the city's equal opportunities officer at the time.
The city then commissioned the law firm to investigate the allegations and fired the equal opportunities officer, who is currently defending herself against her dismissal in court.
According to the investigation report, the allegations of alleged sexual assaults at the Erfurt Theater cannot be prosecuted as criminal offenses.
However, the law firm had identified “violations of the law and regulations that must be countered with measures”.
