He was placed under judicial control with a ban on hunting and carrying or possessing a weapon, in accordance with the prosecution's requisitions, François Capin-Dulhoste told AFP, confirming information from the Est Républicain.
Fatal accidents
A 72-year-old hunter was accidentally killed on Sunday, during a hunting trip organized by (the approved municipal hunting association, ACCA) of Gondreville, a town west of Nancy, Capin-Dulhoste told the AFP Monday.
The alleged perpetrator of this shooting, a 52-year-old man, was taken into police custody after the incident.
During the 2022-2023 season, hunting accidents caused the death of six people in France, including none who were non-hunters, according to the report at the end of August from the French Biodiversity Office (OFB).
