Kate Middleton had to undergo serious abdominal surgery.

London – Worrying news from the British royal family.

As Kensington Palace announced, Kate Middleton (42) had to have “planned abdominal surgery” on January 16th.

The palace said the procedure was successful, although Princess Kate will remain in hospital for "ten to fourteen days before returning home to continue her recovery," according to the statement.

, citing a palace insider.

While nothing has been announced about the exact reasons for the operation, Prince William's wife (41) will have to take it easy for a long time after the procedure.

“According to current medical assessments, she will probably only be able to fulfill her public obligations again after Easter,” said the official statement.

Princess Kate is now supposed to recover in the famous London Clinic.

Other members of the British royal family have also been treated there in the past, including Princess Margaret (71, † 2002) and Prince Philip (99, † 2021).

Since it became known that the Princess of Wales was being treated here, the entrance to the London Clinic has been guarded by police.

The London Clinic

The London Clinic is located in central London.

The clinic opened its doors in 1932, and former US President John F. Kennedy (46, † 1963) and actress Elizabeth Taylor (79, † 2011), among others, were treated there in the past.

The London Clinic is

one of the largest private clinics in the UK, according to

Health Investor .

In 2010, Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) opened a new cancer center there, and in 2019 a special center for robotic surgery was integrated.

Concierge service, catering team – Princess Kate is cared for after surgery in a luxury clinic in London

In addition to visits from Prince William, the clinic's first-class service should ensure that Princess Kate has the best possible recovery.

On its website, the London Clinic touts the “exceptional service” patients can expect during their stay.

In addition to a private bathroom with air conditioning, Kate even has a concierge service at her disposal, which can help, among other things, “with booking tours, theater performances and restaurants”.

Kate Middleton probably won't take advantage of this offer after undergoing abdominal surgery.

However, Kate could receive visitors in the integrated Devonshire Café, and there is also a catering team available, which, according to the London Clinic, is working to “offer the ideal menu for your recovery.” We can only hope that the mother of three recovers quickly and completely from her Surgery recovered, because King Charles also needs an operation and will be out for a short time, as the palace announced.
