Will the André Allar school finally stop being the target of compulsive throwers?
The case could evolve in the coming days, numerous people having been summoned by the police services handling the case, as indicated in Le
Figaro
by corroborating sources.
These people are suspected of having thrown objects and trash towards children and staff at the primary school, located in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille.
These throwing objects, which have become almost regular for many months in the courtyard of the establishment, are the work of several individuals residing in apartments located all around the school.
Banana peels, cake tins and even a rusty sword were found in the playground, barely protected by small awnings.
Last week, the affair took another turn, the director of the establishment having been slightly injured by the throwing of “
large screws
” and evacuated to the hospital, out of danger.
According to the parents of the students, she was still on sick leave this Thursday.
A police investigation was opened to identify the suspects, suspected by parents of students of being people rehoused by associations in apartments managed by several social landlords.

These are several tenants residing in at least two different buildings.
Some are undocumented immigrants rehoused by associations, but there are also squatters
,” testified a parent delegate to Le
Figaro
.
According to several sources, summonses were sent to around twenty people residing in these buildings.
Some people have already been questioned, and DNA analyzes are also underway on the objects thrown to try to confuse the throwers.

A net soon to be installed above the yard
At the end of the day on Thursday, parents were summoned by management to an information meeting bringing together the management of the establishment, the national police, the municipality and social landlords.
At the end of this meeting, parents were informed of the progress of the investigation and of the taking of certain measures to prevent other objects from ending up in the school playground.
The landlords confirmed that they had warned all their tenants, warning them that anyone involved in throwing objects would see their lease terminated with immediate effect.
National and municipal police always take turns around the school to ensure a daily police presence near the establishment.

We will continue to deploy municipal police until things calm down
,” said Yannick Ohanessian, deputy mayor of Marseille in charge of security.

The school is a sanctuary.
We have an obligation to get out of this crisis situation
,” said Nadia Boulainseur, mayor of the city’s 15th and 16th arrondissements.
At the same time, the school announced to parents the installation of a net covering the entire playground.
This solution, for a time refused by National Education, was finally adopted, the idea of installing surveillance cameras having been refused by the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters.
The installation of the net will take place next Wednesday, but to the great astonishment of parents, it could take three weeks.

,” sighs a parent as they leave the meeting.

We are satisfied with the establishment's responses, but disappointed by the city of Marseille.
We have been warning about these jets for several years and nothing had been done until then.
We are not going to wait until there is an accident
,” sighs the mother of two children.
