The State Congress, the Government of San Marino, will have to present a bill to ban the use of mobile phones, at least in elementary and middle schools.
The Great and General Council, i.e. the Titan's parliament, as reported by the local media, has approved an arengo request against smartphones for under 11s, i.e. a law suggestion that comes from citizens.
Arengo's request was presented to the Captains Regent, the heads of state of San Marino, immediately after taking office by a group of middle school teachers on what they define as "an now unsustainable educational and social emergency".
Hence the request for greater regulation by prohibiting children under 11 from using tablets and cell phones, primarily in schools but also and possibly in public places.
An event which, however, appears less likely.
At the moment, therefore, the limits and places where these limits must be applied to children with cell phones have not been clarified. A more precise regulation will only be obtained with the bill that implements the request.
