While the Airbus A320 of the Malaysian company Air Asia was about to land at Phuket airport, Thailand, the passengers of flight FD3015 discovered that a snake was crawling above the baggage compartments... right above their heads.
“When the reptile was seen on the plane, some passengers quickly got up from their seats while others started filming
,” reports the Malaysian daily

A video posted on TikTok (viewed to date more than 550,000 times) on January 17 actually shows an impassioned steward trying to get the snake into a plastic bottle before the stunned eyes of passengers.
In vain.
The flight attendants finally managed to drop it into a plastic bag.
“After landing, ground security officers were asked to sweep the plane in case there were any other snakes, but none were found
,” adds

The incident took place on January 13, the company spokesperson confirmed to CNN, who pointed out a
“very rare situation which can occur from time to time on any plane”
.
“The Air Asia crew was well trained to handle an event of this nature and evacuated passengers from the area as a precaution
,” he added to the American channel.
However, the spokesperson did not specify what species of reptile it was, nor how it had come on board.
Nor without, well, what happened to him once he was captured.
This is not the first time that a snake has been found on an Air Asia plane.
In February 2022, a reptile was found on board a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sabah, Malaysia.
The plane had been diverted for an emergency landing.
Again, videos showed the animal slipping through the plane's light fixtures.
