A sit-in was organized today afternoon in via Sicilia, in front of the Liceo Tasso headquarters, in the center of Rome, by the institute's political collective "against the denial of freedom of expression and dissent".
The young people invited the entire student community, the teaching staff, the Ata staff, the parents "and anyone who is interested, even outside our school, to participate".
The high school has been at the center of the news in recent days because the occupants have been hit by harsh measures: suspensions, 5 in conduct and socially useful work.
In recent hours the occupying students have denied having caused damage to the school.
"The secretariat doors - they write - were not broken into; the only lock that suffered damage was that of the main entrance", but the boys deny that the lock was broken by them.
In a letter sent two days ago to the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara and to the school director of the institute Paolo Pedullà, the boys wrote among other things: "we never intended to escape our responsibilities and we demonstrated this by self-reporting and claiming culpability for the political gesture What attracted the attention of the press, the ministry and public opinion were not our requests and our dissent, as we hoped, but rather the way in which it was repressed, not educational but punitive. The responses received were the clear demonstration of everything what we have denounced so far."
