The striking information of a family that paid two years of expenses in a closed neighborhood in Cordoba for a house that it bought without having any type of residence was one of the keys to the investigation that managed to find the family of Ecuadorian drug trafficker Adolfo "Fito" Macías Villamar, leader of the Los Choneros criminal gang that unleashed an escalation of violence in that country.
This Thursday night, eight people linked to Macías, including his wife and children, were arrested in the private neighborhood Valle del Golf, on the road to Falda del Carmen, on the outskirts of the city of Córdoba.
This Friday morning they were deported from the Buenos Aires Airport.
The joint and secret operation carried out by National Security and Córdoba together with Procunar began with a call that Minister Patricia Bullrich received from the Ecuadorian authorities, with which measures were ordered together with the Attorney General's Office and the Narcocriminal Prosecutor's Office (Procunar). ).
At the same time, the Ministry of Security of Córdoba began an investigation into the presence in a gated community of people who made striking economic movements, such as paying two years of expenses and having acquired a house without having any type of residence.
Communication between both ministries unified the investigation and the Federal Police and the Córdoba Police were designated in charge of the investigation and monitoring.
