Major police operation at a high-rise building in Mannheim.
After an arrest, the all-clear is given.
Mannheim - An arrest has been made in connection with a threat situation in a Mannheim high-rise building.
A police spokeswoman confirmed on Friday that the threat was now over.
According to police, the 47-year-old suspect resisted his arrest and was taken to a psychiatric hospital after receiving medical treatment.
It was initially unclear what was happening in the building.
The police spokeswoman had previously emphasized that there was “at no time” any danger to residents of the high-rise building or residents.
In addition to special police forces, there were also several ambulances on site.
When asked, the spokeswoman said that what happened in Neckarstadt was not a case of hostage-taking.
No further information was initially provided for tactical reasons.
The emergency call from the residential complex reached the police around 10 a.m.
