Rescue workers could only rescue him dead.
Bösebach – An unusual but tragic accident occurred on Wednesday evening (January 17th).
A 77-year-old Dutchman fell from a bridge on the Phyrnautobahn in Austria.
The man and his 58-year-old companion stood on the shoulder to look at the damage from a breakdown.
The 77-year-old from the Netherlands then climbed over a guardrail and a railing to urinate and fell off the bridge.

Accident on a motorway bridge in Austria: Man falls to his death while trying to urinate
According to the police, the trailer of a vehicle touched the guardrail after a defect.
Both men looked at the damage on the shoulder of the bridge.
The passenger then called the police.
Meanwhile, the Dutchman climbed over the guardrail and over a railing.
The officers suspect that the man slipped.
He was still able to hold on briefly to the railing of the bridge, but he still fell 25 meters.
The rescue workers were only able to rescue the 77-year-old dead.

An equally tragic accident occurred in Lower Austria in September.
A bus fell from a four-meter-high bridge and came to rest on its left side.
There were five passengers on the bus, two of whom suffered serious injuries.

A similar incident occurred in Venice in October.
A bus fell from a bridge onto a railway line, killing 21 people, including three Germans.
The accident sparked a debate about dilapidated infrastructure in the Italian city, especially between Venice and the mainland, as a dilapidated guardrail was probably the trigger for the accident.
