The passengers were astonished when they found out that their flight was not going to Mallorca but to Tenerife.
The staff was equally surprised.
Valladolid - When the passengers of a plane in the Spanish city of Valladolid heard where their trip was going, there was great outrage: the plane was supposed to land in Tenerife instead of Mallorca.
The passengers were only informed about this shortly before takeoff.
The airline Iberia spoke of an “error on the ground”.

The incident occurred in early January.
At the same time, a strike by Iberia Group handling staff took place.
This could also have contributed to the confusion about the plane's destination.
According to a report in the Spanish newspaper
"Diario de Mallorca",
many of the passengers were Mallorcans who had spent Christmas and New Year's Eve in the Castile and León region.
They were therefore upset when they found out that they wouldn't be able to go home.
“There were a lot of children and people who had to go to work,” a passenger told the newspaper.
The passengers were only informed about their destination on the plane.

A man had already noticed that the destination on the display was Tenerife.
When he asked whether there had been a mistake, the ground staff laughed and assured him that everything was fine.
“Of course, sir, don’t worry,” his wife quoted the ground staff as saying.
“I had just sat down and put the phone on airplane mode when they told us the destination and asked us to get out if we didn't want to go there,” she said.
Apparently the passengers had been put on the wrong plane.
“We were all shocked,” the woman continued.
Passengers only informed on the plane: Second security check necessary
According to statements, problems had already occurred before: the flight was delayed by more than an hour and the luggage had to be collected personally at the airport.
“They forced us to get our bags and go through security again,” complained one of those affected.
The crew visibly regretted the situation.
A passenger reported that both the pilot and the stewardesses apologized.
“They were all very friendly.”

According to the newspaper report, other passengers took the incident in stride.
This was followed by jokes like “well, it’s often cold in Mallorca” and “what a fast flight”.
And after a little delay, the passengers finally arrived at their actual destination.
An incident in July 2023 proves that things are even worse: passengers on a flight from Newark to Rome were stuck on a plane for seven hours without water, food and fresh air.
In the end the flight was canceled.
