48 million euros in key allocations will flow into Erdinger Land this year - 12 million euros more than last year.
Half of it goes to the district, the rest to the municipalities.
Erding – Rising costs in many areas are also causing problems for the Erding district and its municipalities.
Financial support is now available from the Free State of Bavaria in the form of key allocations.
48.64 million euros flow into Erdinger Land, a good half of it (24.63 million euros) to the district, the rest (24 million euros) to the municipalities.
An increase of a good 12 million euros compared to the previous year.
For the first time in almost 20 years, the city of Erding is also receiving money.
Only three municipalities are left empty-handed - due to their high tax capacity: Eitting, Oberding and Wörth.
Last year, in addition to the large district town, this also included St. Wolfgang.
Since the allocations can be used freely, they are an important source of income for many municipalities - in addition to their own tax revenue.
“In this way, we are strengthening local self-government and helping rural areas enormously,” said local MP and State Minister Ulrike Scharf (CSU) on Friday.
The municipalities are also affected by the cost explosions.
That is why the key allocations have been further increased for 2024.
“The additional funds bring urgently needed relief,” explained Benno Zierer, the FW representative for the Erding district, because inflation, high energy prices and additional expenses due to the care and accommodation of refugees would put the municipalities under considerable financial pressure.
According to Green MdL Johannes Becher, despite the key allocations, many municipalities have “reached the limits of their financial performance”.
Therefore, not only more money is needed, but also “less bureaucracy in order to sustainably relieve the burden on municipalities”.
From the perspective of SPD MP Doris Rauscher, Bavaria's municipalities urgently need additional funds.
There is a huge need for investment in schools, daycare centers and hospitals, for example.
This also applies to ongoing expenses, for example in local public transport, said Rauscher.
