Aying's mayor Peter Wagner sheds light on wind turbine citizen participation.

Interest is high.

But what exactly is behind it?

Aying

– The first of three information events on financial participation opportunities for wind energy in the Hofoldinger Forest in Aying attracted great interest.

In an interview with the Munich Merkur, Mayor Peter Wagner (CSU) explains how citizen participation works and why he has a good feeling.

that the population wants to take advantage of the offer.

Mr. Wagner, you seem quite confident.

Yes, we had around 160 visitors to the Ayinger Sixthofstadel.

Not even the seating was enough.

There was a very mixed audience who were interested in the information about citizen participation.

Thanks to our local council, leaflets were distributed in the community in advance.

The work was certainly not in vain.

What exactly is this about right now?

Well, in addition to the information about what has happened so far and what the construction project will look like so that we will soon have three wind turbines in the Hofoldinger Forest, it was once again made clear that these systems are also accepted by the population and that the citizens also contribute financially to them can.

We in Aying were the first to inform the public about this.

Now it's Otterfing and Sauerlach's turn.

After the event in Sauerlach, things get serious!

Yes, then citizens from these communities can participate.

For the time being, only residents from Aying, Otterfing and Sauerlach are allowed to subscribe with amounts from 500 euros to 25,000 euros.

A total of six million euros in equity capital is to be collected in this way.

The term is ten years with an annual interest rate of six percent.

There is then a fixed repayment date.

There is also the prospect of an additional profit share, depending on the annual earnings situation.

That's right.

We work here with GLS Community Bank eG.

This was initiated by the GLS Crowd, which is used for citizen participation.

The corresponding platform is offered here so that citizens can draw.

I also made one thing clear at the information event.

The money invested in wind turbines must not hurt.

Because the deposit is initially tied up for ten years.

And of course there are also risks that we draw attention to.

We want to keep the topic as transparent as possible so that everyone knows what to expect.

But overall this should be an interesting thing for many citizens.

The event in Aying also showed this.

Preparations for the wind turbines to come have been going on for a long time now.

Do you remain confident?

In any case.

It took us around ten years to finally get to where we are, namely just before the facilities.

It is quite special that three municipalities are pulling together here, with different colors and from two districts.

And I can say from my experience: we work very well together.

We realized that together we are strong or stronger to realize this project.

We can be proud of that.

We carry this spirit forward.

And I see that the population sees it very similarly.

Further information evenings

Further information events on financial participation options for citizens are planned.

On Monday, January 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. in Otterfing, school auditorium, Schulstraße 10, and on Thursday, January 25th, at 7 p.m. in Sauerlach, multi-purpose hall, Am Otterloher Feld 2 - also as a live stream. More information is available on the Internet at www .windenergie-hofoldinger-forst.de.
