Is the city of Saint-Denis experiencing an escalation of violence?
The town hall announced this Saturday in a press release the death of a 17-year-old high school student attacked four days earlier in front of his school.
“
While he was going to take a white baccalaureate test, a car stopped near him for an operation akin to a punitive expedition
,” details the municipality.
And added: “
The attack was fleeting, cold, blind and extremely violent.

The teenager was hit multiple times with “
blunt objects
” then left on the ground, seriously injured.
After four days of intensive care at Beaujon hospital, he died from his injuries.

,” shares the town hall.
“Cycle of violence”
The same day, a 14-year-old teenager was stabbed to death on the line 13 platform at the Basilique de Saint-Denis metro station.
He was stabbed in the back and kicked and punched, according to a police source.
The next day, a 19-year-old young man presented himself to the police and was taken into custody.
He must be presented to a judge this Saturday.
Following these fatal attacks, the Saint-Denis town hall calls on “
everyone to take the measure of their responsibility to put an end to the cycle of violence
”.
