Gunther Mair from Rottach-Egern is no longer a member of the board of the Tegernsee Valley Protection Association (SGT).
It is said that he withdrew “at his own request”.
Rottach-Egern
- In order to prevent the Rottach town hall from being completely demolished, Gunther Mair initiated a citizens' initiative in autumn 2023.
As is well known, with success: On February 4th, the people of Rottach will decide on the future of their town hall by voting.
Meanwhile, the Tegernsee Valley Protection Association (SGT) has announced: Mair is no longer a member of the SGT board.
According to the club's current newsletter, he withdrew from the management team at his own request.
SGT chairwoman: Mair is “more of a lone fighter”
When asked, SGT chairwoman Angela Brogsitter-Finck did not want to go into more detail about the reasons for Mair's withdrawal.
Just this much: “He is more of a lone fighter.” The SGT boss also emphasizes: Mair, who was a member of the extended board as an advisory board, will remain a member of the protection community.
His wife Lore also continued to be involved in the association's ranks.
Mair himself also tries to use moderate wording.
The protection community and he recently viewed the key issues that they wanted to get involved in differently, says Mair, who moved from Mannheim to Rottach-Egern seven years ago and made a name for himself with various environmental campaigns.
The protection group wants to stay out of the town hall decision
In its newsletter, the SGT once again emphasizes its stance on the town hall referendum: The SGT deliberately did not want to interfere in this matter.
It is solely up to the citizens of Rottach to “make a decision that is right for the community”.
