Dear readers,

A fifteen-year-old judicial investigation - a "

cold case

" - is seeing major progress thanks to advances in DNA identification.

After years of mystery, the investigation into the murder of Caroline Marcel was relaunched after her transfer to the “

cold cases

” center in Nanterre, which gave a boost.

It is “

a new exploitation of the seals

” which “

allowed the identification of a genetic profile on the car key

” of the victim, aged 45, detailed the prosecution.

An identification made possible by “

the technical progress made in the extraction of traces and prints on previously unusable surfaces

”, he added.

This led to the identification of a man aged 18 and present in the area at the time of the incident

.”

A “COLD CASE” SOON TO BE SOLVED?

In the rest of the current news…

  • A 9-year-old child survived alone in an apartment for two years

A little boy was forced to live on cakes and cold cans for two years, sometimes stealing tomatoes from a balcony of the HLM building where he lived, in Nersac.

He went through periods without heat or electricity, forced to sleep with three duvets and wash in cold water.

Until a neighbor anonymously reported the situation of this fifth grader, then sixth grader, to the police.

Investigators then discovered that his mother lived in Sireuil, with her partner, five kilometers from her son.

She visited him from time to time to give him something to eat.

She was sentenced to six months of electronic surveillance by the Angoulême criminal court.

The 9-year-old boy was placed in the care of a foster family.

  • Suspected of the murder of his daughter, Cyrille Picard is “

the most wanted French fugitive in Europe

Cyrille Picard is suspected of the murder of his daughter in Haute-Savoie, in May 2022. Europol

The body of 10-year-old Célia was found on May 12, 2022 at the family home in Veigy-Foncenex, a town located on the Swiss border.

The girl's autopsy revealed that she died

of "mechanical asphyxia

."

Suspicion quickly turned to his father, who was separating from the victim's mother and who had disappeared since the crime.

Cyrille Picard thus became “

the most wanted French fugitive in Europe

”.

The man is considered “

dangerous.”

He knows how to handle weapons and is able to live with very few resources

,” according to Europol.

In addition to the particularly sordid nature of the crime committed, his escape route and the personality of the fugitive contain disturbing aspects.

It is in the interest of the investigation that as many people as possible can consult their report on the

Eu Most Wanted

platform ,” judges Commissioner Guillaume Lacassin, head of the National Fugitive Search Brigade (BNRF).

  • Lina, the 15-year-old girl who had been missing for four months, filed a complaint for rape in 2022

Lina has not given any sign of life since Saturday September 23.

Le Figaro

Lina, the 15-year-old teenager who disappeared in September in Alsace and has not been found since, filed a complaint of rape in June 2022 against two young adults.

Then aged 13 years and 8 months, she spent an evening at a friend's home in the spring of 2022 during which she had sexual intercourse with two young men.

If they affirm that the relations were consensual, she had filed a complaint for rape on June 27, 2022. The procedure was, however, dismissed by the Saverne public prosecutor's office for "

insufficiently characterized

" offense.

Since Lina's disappearance, no lead seems favored by the investigators.

But several disturbing elements surface.

Thus, the week following her disappearance, the teenager's ex-boyfriend was killed while leaving the road after being controlled at 185 km/h.

A tragedy which we do not yet know whether or not it can be linked to what happened to the young girl.

Yesterday's fact

The legal columnist of Le

Figaro

was angry on January 23, 1974, and the class struggle within the court would hardly matter.

The Ardennes Assize Court has just sentenced Paul Boillot to 20 years of criminal imprisonment, finding slight mitigating circumstances “

in the neuropathic character of this active duty commander who graduated from Polytechnique and graduated from the War School

”.

Because he could not leave his wife, this father chose to kill his little daughter with a hatchet.

Divorcing was against his “

religious beliefs

.

And kill an eight-year-old child, then?”

Is this allowed

?”

the journalist chokes.

Yes, this trial exasperated me

,” he continues, “

because it shows blocked elites who behave like in Balzac’s novels

.”

And added, scathingly: “

Commander Boillot was very lucky not to be an anonymous person, any OS of the region, or a terry cloth representative: he would not have found so many friends and classmates to affirm on the stand that he was a good father, a good husband, a good Christian, and that we did not understand his derailment of thought.

It’s because thinking that goes off the rails remains the privilege reserved for people of good company...”
