A “very impressive catch, with a market value of one million euros” that the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, was keen to salute by visiting the premises of the ST94 at the Créteil police station, Sunday after- noon.

He took the time to congratulate one by one the police officers from the two drug groups who worked on the case, while the accused was being interviewed in another room.

“Experienced investigators”

The police began the arrest on Friday, shortly before 7 p.m., after observing an exchange of suspicious suitcases placed in a utility vehicle.

The search allowed them to discover ten suitcases containing more than 30 kg of resin each, or 330 kg in total.

After taking the man into custody, they went to search his home in Gretz-Armainvilliers, where they found five additional suitcases, i.e. 165 kg of cannabis, as well as several thousand euros in cash.

“Police officers from the Territorial Security narcotics groups regularly manage to dismantle large-scale drug trafficking,” says Frédéric Le Coënt, zonal delegate of the Alliance 94 union. “They are experienced investigators who carry out excellent quality work.
