That could have ended badly: a driver from Gaißach broke through the closed barrier at a level crossing in Bad Tölz on Saturday.
The sun had blinded him.

- A 38-year-old Toyota driver from Gaißach was lucky on Saturday morning around 8:50 a.m.
According to the police, he was blinded by the unfavorable sun and overlooked the closed barriers at the level crossing on Allgaustraße in Bad Tölz.

He broke through the barrier with his car and drove onto the tracks.
Since no train was passing the level crossing at the time, the 38-year-old remained uninjured.

There was an estimated 3,000 euros in damage to his vehicle and around 2,500 euros in damage to the barrier.
According to the police, the 38-year-old is now facing an investigation into negligent, dangerous interference with rail traffic.

A barrier apparently lowered due to a technical defect and a truck drove into it.
Tölzer Allgaustraße is located on the northeastern outskirts of the city and connects the B13 leading to Holzkirchen with the Eichmühle area.
The route of the future northern span can already be seen in this area.
Construction work on this bypass is scheduled to begin in autumn 2024.
