A new support association in the northern district wants to advance the Poing high school in the current ongoing debate and points to a broad base of supporters.

A “fruitful collaboration” with other organizations is planned.

Poing

– A support association that has now been founded wants to provide more support for the construction of a fifth high school in the district in Poing.

Under the leadership of Poinger's former mayor Albert Hingerl (SPD), supporters met in the construction management container of ARGE Poing "Am Bergfeld", the organization of property developers in the growth community, next to the planned high school property.

According to the association, a decision on the binding start of construction of the fifth high school for the Ebersberg district in Poing should be made again in the Ebersberg district council at the end of 2024.

Until then, the newly founded organization has clearly stated its mission according to its statutes: “The aim of the support association should be to support the education region of the Ebersberg district with all its strength and strength on a broad and non-partisan basis of supporters in the binding implementation of the construction of the high school to support Poing in cooperation with the political community.”

Reasons for starting a new business

According to the support association, the background is that due to the high number of students and the reintroduction of the nine-year high school, the Free State of Bavaria, at the request of the Ebersberg district, approved a further, fifth high school for the Ebersberg district in Poing in 2018.

Nevertheless, the district, as the person responsible for material expenses, has not yet made a budgetary decision to build the high school, which was already considered urgent and necessary at the time.

Grafing-Bahnhof vocational school

The construction of a vocational school in Grafing-Bahnhof is also being discussed in the area.

It's basically about financial viability.

Current demand from the district: Save money on planning.

Cross-party action

According to the organizers, ARGE Poing “Am Bergfeld” wants to support the association, but does not want to act as a founding member.

The founding protocol was signed by non-partisan representatives from society and politics.

According to the association, in addition to the first board member Albert Hingerl, the representative of the high school interest group, Andrea Lacour, as second chairwoman, as well as honorary citizen and CSU district councilor Christa Stewens, Rainer Koch together with his wife and head teacher Monika Koch and Günter Scherzl (FWG) are there. , member of the district council.

In addition, local councilor Valentin Magori (Free Voters) and local councilor Christina Tarnikas (SPD), who is also active on a voluntary basis in many other areas.

According to the association, the founding members hold various positions.

The formation should be submitted to the registry court in the coming days and then registered.

After convening its constituent meeting, the association says it wants to support the district in making a quick and binding decision to build a fifth high school and also recruit other interested parties for cooperation, public relations work and membership growth.

Collaboration with existing organizations

Existing organizations such as the Poing Gymnasium interest group or the Gymnasium citizens' initiative remained as independent institutions and were unaffected by the founding of the support association.

The new association is striving for a “fruitful collaboration” with the interest group and the BIG, which, in its view, have done very valuable and important work in support of the fifth high school.
