Geretsried - 25 guards from all over Upper Bavaria recently danced in the Ratsstubensaal and showed off their skills and amazed the audience with acrobatic shows.

At the invitation of the carnival society Narreninsel Wolfratshausen and the Upper Bavaria regional association in the Association of German Carnival (BDK), 25 guards from all over Upper Bavaria showed their skills in the Ratsstubensaal.

“I am pleased that this meeting is taking place in Geretsried: the city is happy to support it,” emphasized Mayor Michael Müller on Saturday afternoon.

At that time the council chamber was still lightly attended.

However, the guards of the Schleissheim Narrenrat already caused enthusiasm during their opening performance.

Accompanied by the Faithless hit “Insomnia”, the young women and men marched in in black and red costumes and waved black pirate skull flags.

Afterwards, BDK honorary president Robert Weiß invited the local heroes from the Narreninsel carnival society onto the stage.

The youth guard “Dancing Fires” continued the pirate theme, but forewent the daring leaps of its predecessors.

The fact that the sound system briefly went on strike did not slow down the enthusiasm of the young Wolfratshausen and Geretsried women.

At Narrhalla Oberschleißheim: Prince couple Krissy I. and Flo I at the start

The Narrhalla Oberschleißheim arrived with the royal couple Krissy I. and Flo I.

“Our night was short,” the princess confessed.

The evening before, the couple honored each other at a carnival ball until late at night.

“It’s still a lot of fun for us to be able to show you our show,” assured Flo I. Together with Tanzmariechen, who revived the Cologne Funkenmariechen tradition that has existed since 1869, the Oberschleissheimers put a hot stamp on the dance floor.

“Experience has shown that the first guards have the hardest time getting the mood going,” praised moderator Robert Weiß.

Geretsrieder Ratsstubensaal: Around 500 dancers danced

Narreninsel President Franz Hübler, who organized the show dance meeting together with the President of the Upper Bavaria Regional Association in the BDK Peter Steinberger, counted a total of around 500 dancers.

“On days like this, all members of the clubs are called upon to ensure everything runs smoothly,” he explained.

For example, it is important to prepare the cloakrooms and provide drinks.

Since some of the guards were rushing to other appearances on Saturday, there was a lot of coming and going in the council chamber.
