Today only two buildings and a cemetery remain as reminders of a former farming village in Baden-Württemberg.
How come?
Stuttgart - The fascination for abandoned places, so-called ghost towns, is widespread.
They tell stories of bygone times, of catastrophes, of rise and fall.
One of the best-known examples is probably the Ukrainian city of Pripyat, which was evacuated after the Chernobyl nuclear accident.
A farming village in Baden-Württemberg was also completely evacuated around 85 years ago, but since there is not much left of the community other than two buildings, it cannot be said to be a ghost village.

you can read how it came about that today only two buildings remain of a former village in Baden-Württemberg.
A well-known example of a village that had to be completely evacuated and abandoned is the municipality of Graun in South Tyrol.
The place had to give way to a reservoir; today only the bell tower protruding from the lake is a reminder of the village.
