The police prosecution today (Monday), at the end of a complex investigation, filed an indictment against Stav Krif on suspicion of defrauding the public in the amount of approximately NIS 100,000, after impersonating the family members of those kidnapped, murdered or evacuated from the events of October 7.

The indictment, which contains 23 counts, including impersonating another person, receiving something fraudulently and attempting to obtain things fraudulently, were filed by the police prosecution unit in the North District.

This is not the first time that the defendant, 30-year-old Stav Krief, from Mikneam Illit, has deceived those around him after impersonating himself online.

The indictment shows that from the middle of November 2023, the accused impersonated himself on social networks, using profile pictures belonging to the relatives of the families of the murdered, abducted and evacuees.

As part of his action, he contacted the acquaintances of the victims of the October 7th events, supposedly on behalf of the family members, with the deliberate aim of deceiving them and receiving money from them under misrepresentation.

As mentioned, the accused fraudulently received about 100 thousand NIS, and even tried to raise an additional 165 thousand NIS for his own benefit.

On January 4, 2024, the investigation conducted against Stav Craif was allowed to be published, since the police learned that the accused intended to leave the country.

He was arrested in Israel, after he almost fled the country in view of the suspicions that he realized had accumulated against him.

Since then, according to the findings of the investigation and its needs, his detention has been extended from time to time.

Today (Monday), upon its conclusion, an indictment was filed against him and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.
