At 76 years old,
Anny Duperey
continues with the same joy and enthusiasm to play in theater, cinema and television.
In
Death of a Shepherd
,
broadcast Tuesday evening at 9:10 p.m. on France 3 (and based on a novel by Franz-Olivier Giesbert), the actress plays a mother whose shepherd son was murdered in dramatic circumstances.
“
It’s both a family story and an investigation
,” she explains.
It was a difficult role because this woman is already a widow and she lost her son.
She is harsh and desperate because she doesn't show her feelings.
But she wants to know.
She wants the truth.
This is why she is conducting her own investigation.
But we will understand throughout the fiction that she is of tremendous self-sacrifice and generosity.

TV tonight: our selection of the day
Having herself experienced a tragedy in her childhood with the accidental death of her parents when she was eight years old, Anny Duperey admits to having long been afraid that the pattern would repeat itself.
“
I was afraid of having children, but Bernard Giraudeau convinced me and I thank him for it
,” admits the actress.
Today,
my children do what they love with passion
and I am very proud of them.
I have never been a very anxious mother, I am light-hearted.
I knew nothing would happen to them.
As if angels were watching over me..."
After the death of Bernard Giraudeau in 2010, Anny Duperey confessed that it was difficult for her children, Gaël and Sara, even if the illness had brought them closer to their father: “
Bernard was not easy, far from it.
He was always looking for a fight or what was wrong even though we had everything to be happy.
And it wasn't me who made him understand how to be happy, it was cancer!
Cancer allowed him to discover that he was an “idiot”, as he said himself, and he became closer to our children...
"
“It is not the role of the President of the Republic to speak about Depardieu”
Anny Duperey
On the Depardieu affair, Anny Duperey also has a clear opinion.
A few years ago, she said of the actor that he should
“shut the fuck up”
.
A speech which had earned him reprimands from the profession: “
I was attacked because it was still sacred at the time.
Now I don't hate him, I'm just saying that he says stupid things like him.
Bertrand Blier had also defended me by saying that I had said out loud what all these friends were thinking
,” says the actress.
For Anny Duperey, the attacks to which Gérard Depardieu is the subject should not impact his work in this way.
“We're making a big deal out of her business...
Even the President of the Republic has spoken about it
even though it's not his role to speak out on it
,” admits the actress before adding:
“I don't take sides because these extremist movements scare me...
What bothers me the most about this is that the wonderful films he made are being killed
.
As with Polanski, we must differentiate the man from the work.
Because in this case, we simultaneously condemn the directors and screenwriters who made these beautiful films.”
Finally, regarding her projects, Anny Duperey admits to having loved doing “Mask Singer” on TF1.
Asked about a possible participation in “Dancing with the Stars”, she admits with a smile: “
I would wait until I am 80, it will be a great challenge.
» As for
A Wonderful Family
, the actress rules out any possibility of a return of the series, even for a single episode: “A Wonderful Family
was not only an opportunity in the profession, but also an opportunity in life.
It's been way beyond a series... But it won't come back, even for a single episode.
It is not possible.
Joël Santoni, our director and friend, died in 2018 and we will not continue without him
,” she explains.
