His competence as an architect, his courage and also his humor – all of this will be remembered in Grafrath.

Grafrath - Peter Kaifler campaigned in the local council and outside for compatible local development and improving the quality of life.

He recently died at the age of 78.

From 2014 to 2020, Kaifler sat on the local council for the Greens, but his local political involvement went back much further.

Back in the early 1990s, he supported a citizens' initiative for traffic calming with his ideas for redesigning the main street and the railway underpass.

“We essentially owe the construction of the roundabout on the B471 to Peter Kaifler’s clear, objective arguments in the course of building the town hall,” says Elke Struzena, the spokeswoman for Grafrath in the Ampermoos Green branch.

Kaifler's main topic in the local council was also local design.

At a round table with council colleagues and citizens, he worked on setting the course for the development of Graf-rath.

On a voluntary basis, he offered tours of the place, giving those interested exciting insights into architectural topics.

The father of three children has also left a lasting mark outside of his hometown.

He designed the development of the Brunnenhof in Fürstenfeldbruck back in the 1980s.

With a combination of residential buildings and restaurants, lots of greenery, a fountain and Mediterranean flair, the area is still considered one of the most beautiful backyards in the district town.

Taking responsibility for posterity was something that was close to Peter Kaifler's heart.

Despite a serious illness, he supported the activities of the local Greens association until the end.
