Mühltal - Yesterday, Sunday afternoon (January 21st), an accident occurred on state road 2063 from Starnberg to Gauting, as a result of which the Gauting fire department was completely closed for around one and a half hours while the accident was being recorded and the sole vehicle involved was rescued.
A 79-year-old pensioner from Munich was driving his car from Starnberg towards Gauting around 4:30 p.m.
His 81-year-old wife was a passenger in the car.
Shortly before the end of the forest, around 650 meters before the Hauser intersection, the pensioner went off the road to the right due to a driving error.
He then drove onto the shoulder and was no longer able to counteract the steering of his vehicle to the right.
The driver ended up crashing head-on into a tree.
According to an initial assessment on site, both the driver and his passenger suffered at least one chest injury.
Both were taken to the Großhadern Clinic by emergency services for a detailed clarification of their injuries.
The pensioner's car suffered a total loss of around 10,000 euros.
