What remains of hip-hop?

You have to go to the Suresnes Cité Danse festival to measure how far you have come.

A little over thirty years ago, Olivier Meyer created this festival in recognition of this dance phenomenon which took to the streets of France, after those of the United States.

Since then, hip-hop has come a long way.

We no longer go to Suresnes to see break, krump or tetris, watch performers in sneakers perform tricks on their heads or discover new gestures born in the street.

Even if there are still artists who work strictly on this side.

This summer we will find the most virtuosos at the Olympic Games, Place de la Concorde, where b-boys and b-girls from all over the world will compete.

But, as a whole, the new generation of hip-hop choreographers have so integrated the knowledge of contemporary dance that the dances from the street and their own become one.
