After several months of investigation, the gendarmes from the Fontainebleau company's research brigade arrested three women who had wanted to steal jewelry belonging to a woman in her seventies.

The case dates back to August 24.

The victim had made an appointment in a bar in La Chapelle-la-Reine, to sell jewelry, for an amount of 43,000 euros.

She had contacted a buyer on the online sales site Vinted.

If at first, on the initial announcement, this 70-year-old woman thought of selling a single piece of jewelry, she ended up giving in to the buyer's request, during a video discussion, in exchange for a cash payment.

It is 6 p.m. that day.

The buyer arrives and offers to take the seller to a quiet alley to give her a wad of notes in cellophane.

While the septuagenarian checks the money given to her, she suddenly sees her jewelry evaporate.

The buyer fled and hid her loot in a vehicle occupied by two other women.

Two of the defendants imprisoned

The victim then begins to scream, alerting a local resident who immediately intervenes and steals the car keys.

The trio then left the scene on foot, abandoning the loot there.

Results of this meeting: the tickets are fake and the thieves' vehicle is falsely plated.

At the end of their investigations, investigators identified four women - the three on the scene and the one who made the appointment, living in Livry-Gargan (Seine-Saint-Denis).

All known to the courts for theft and concealment of theft.

Three of them were arrested last Tuesday.

At the end of their custody, they were tried in immediate appearance by the Fontainebleau criminal court on Thursday.

Two of them were sentenced to 18 months in prison, with a warrant of committal, while the third received a one-year suspended prison sentence.
