“I'm happy even if it's not really my dream to meet him…” Like Lamia, 12, in 5th grade, ten students from Beaumarchais college in Meaux have been invited to Insep (Paris, 12th arrondissement) this Tuesday afternoon to the wishes addressed to the sporting world from the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
For the occasion, they will wear a tracksuit in the colors of the hope section of the famous Meaux gym club.
These ten sportswomen, distributed approximately equally between the four levels of the college, follow courses at flexible times in the sports excellence section (SES).
The college, located in the Beauval district, was labeled an “establishment welcoming high-level athletes” last September, like six other establishments of the Créteil academy.
“They train 25 hours a week,” explains Clémentine Cantaluppi, physical and sports education (PE) teacher and coordinator of the sports excellence section.

Every morning and late afternoon, the ten students, accompanied by their coordinator, head to the Condorcet gymnasium to train.
“It’s a little difficult,” sighs Ambre, 11 years old, 6th grade student.
Especially bodybuilding.
» Myrtille, same age and same class, adds.
“We are far from our parents.
We are tired.
» Because only two athletes out of the ten that the college welcomes are from Seine-et-Marnaise.
The others come from far away and even very far away, like Myrtille, who lives in Montpellier (Hérault).
“I wanted to buy tickets but… it’s too expensive!

They don't really know what to expect from this meeting with the President of the Republic.
“Not everyone has the chance to experience this.
I’m going to try to take photos…”, hopes Margot, 14, in 3rd grade.
What really arouses their enthusiasm is the probable presence of football stars this Tuesday at Insep, Zinédine Zidane and Kylian Mbappé.

And the Paris 2024 Olympic Games?
“I’m going to watch them but I’m not impatient,” says Kessy, 13, in 4th grade with confidence.
“I wanted to buy tickets but… it’s too expensive!
», deplores Margot.
According to the principal of Beaumarchais College, Sandrine Ouzoulias, these ten students are pampered by the establishment.
“They are very, very serious and very, very good students.
They are excellent!
They attach as much importance to sport as to their schooling.
» Clémentine Cantaluppi, who was herself a gymnast, adds: “They know that they will not make a living from this sport, no matter how good they are.
