The use of “ tactical
” weapons
, intended to be used in a military theater, unlike intercontinental strategic weapons, now figures among Belarus' military options.
However, there is no formal indication that nuclear warheads were indeed transferred by Moscow.
If nuclear war is not imminent, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, carried out under the nuclear umbrella and the threat of Russian tactical strikes, has forced Westerners, and primarily the United States, to think to the doctrines of deterrence.
