Russia wants to make up ground in the Ukraine war with “human wave attacks”.
But the “Storm Z” troops are missing – and elite units are probably waving off.
Moscow – Russia has suffered heavy losses in the Ukraine war.
This is partly due to the inhumane “meat grinder” tactics.
This is what former Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin called the human wave attacks that Russia repeatedly relies on in Ukraine.
But with this tactic, Vladimir Putin and his army are now apparently facing problems from within their own ranks.
The hostilities have been particularly merciless in recent months on the Dnipro River.
A few hundred Ukrainians have set up a position here on the side of the river that was actually occupied by Russia.
With great firepower and massive ground attacks, Russia tried to push back the national defenders.
But this apparently remained unsuccessful.

There is now increasing evidence that Russian units on the ground suffered such heavy losses in the Ukraine war that some of them refused to attack.
This is reported by the
Kyiv Post
, citing various Russian and Ukrainian sources.
As a result, the Russian attacks on the Dnipro bridgehead have “practically come to a standstill,” it continues.
The independent news agency UNIAN reports that Russia has converted an entire tank regiment in the sector.
Instead of attacking the enemy, Putin's T-90 super tank would now be used as a tow truck for the many broken down combat vehicles.
The agency takes this as an “indicator of the intensity of Russian losses.”

There is also increasing evidence that Putin's troops are sometimes refusing to attack the Ukrainians with human wave attacks.
In the past, these attacks were often carried out by so-called “Storm-Z” units.
These are soldiers who are viewed as inferior.
Older reservists and former criminals are fighting here.
But after the bloody losses, Russia apparently no longer has enough personnel with such units.
That's why you see more Russian naval units and paratroopers in the Dnipro region.
According to the press secretary of the Joint South Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), these units see themselves as “elite troops” “and do not want to carry out such frontal attacks,” the
Kyiv Post
quotes her as saying.
The press spokeswoman also said that every Russian ground attack resulted in more than 50 percent casualties on the Russian side.

Another report shows that Russia is having problems replenishing its “Storm-Z” units.
High pay and impunity are apparently no longer enough to inspire convicts to work in Ukraine.
That's why Putin is now resorting to other means: the heating in Russian prisons has been turned off at temperatures as low as -35 degrees.
The aim is to make the stay as unpleasant as possible and to get the prisoners to volunteer for the Ukrainian front.
