A new chronicle commemorates deceased local politicians in the Weilheim-Schongau district.
Creating it wasn't that easy.
District - A new, 380-page chronicle commemorates deceased local politicians from the Weilheim-Schongau district.
Wessobrunn's former mayor Konrad Hölzl wrote it "in painstaking, detailed work", as the district office reports - with the help of "Weilheimer Tagblatt", "Schongauer Nachrichten" and "Penzberger Merkur".
Sorted by municipality, the chronicle contains the deceased mayors and district administrators with death and obituary notices as well as obituaries.
In total, Hölzl spent more than a year and a half putting it together, for which he dug deep into the district's archives and the local newspaper.

“Unfortunately, over time, their names fade away.”
“Election periods come and go and so do local politicians.
Unfortunately, their names fade over time at the regional and national level,” states District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß.
For readers, the new book could be a journey through time - sometimes in interesting ways.
the district administrator continued: “Villages appear in it that no longer exist with political independence since the regional reform.”

Searching for documents was not always successful
Konrad Hölzl is also proud of his work, which was not easy to create: “Many telephone conversations with communities, former mayors and other people were necessary.
The search for relevant documents was not always successful and not always optimal.” In total, there are more than 200 deceased people in the memorial chronicle.
The idea came about at a meeting of former mayors.
According to the district office, the copies now produced will go “to the individual municipalities and archives” in the district.
