Major (Res.) Nicholas Berger, 22 years old from Jerusalem, a fighter in the 8208th Battalion, 261st Brigade, was killed in battle in the southern Gaza Strip.
Berger, who lived in the Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood in the capital, was a security guard on the light rail in Jerusalem.
His relative wrote about him on Facebook: "It is with great sadness and gloomy grief that we announce the death of Nicholas (Nick) Berger.
A brave soldier and a hero who fell in defense of his homeland.'
