This Tuesday, January 23 was to mark the disappearance of the Bagnolet scrap metal market (Seine-Saint-Denis) and therefore the first day of a new life for the forty traders installed on a municipal property located at 133-135 of the Gallieni avenue.
Anxious to develop the attractiveness of the artery linking the center of the town to the Porte de Montreuil, the mayor (PS) Tony Di Martino justified his decision during the municipal council meeting of December 21, citing "a source of nuisance for the city” and “a source of significant expenses”.

Instead of packing up, Monday evening, the merchants spent the night there.
“And we will stay and sleep there until the problem is resolved,” warned Elyes, one of the market figures since 2007, this Tuesday morning.
