Just a few days before Christmas, Claudia Effenberg suddenly collapsed.

Düsseldorf - There are difficult months behind Claudia Effenberg (58).
The wife of ex-soccer star Stefan Effenberg (55) has been suffering from health problems since she was a candidate at the jungle camp last year.
Because of the constantly wet socks in the jungle, she caught a virus that led to a skin disease.
Then there were hip problems - and the whole thing ended in a pulmonary embolism that almost cost Claudia Effenberg her life.
Husband Stefan found Claudia Effenberg unconscious
“Stupid as I was, I didn't go for a computer tomography straight away, but kept going to the doctor so that he could give me cortisone injections,” the designer revealed to bild.de.
An examination revealed that she had a hairline fracture on her hip.
An operation followed, which almost cost Claudia Effenberg her life.
At first everything seemed to have gone well and the blonde was recovering at home, but shortly before Christmas the drama began: on December 16th, the ex-jungle camper said she suddenly collapsed on December 16th.
“My husband found me, unconscious.
And if it hadn't been for him, I wouldn't be standing here anymore," she says in an RTL interview.
The former FC Bayern footballer immediately called the ambulance and thus saved his wife's life.
Claudia Effenberg immediately underwent emergency surgery in the hospital.
Diagnosis: double thrombosis.
According to the doctors, there was a “life-threatening risk” after blood clots had already formed in both lungs.

When she remembers the stroke of fate, the ex-“Celebrity Big Brother” participant tears up.
“I jumped away from death,” she admits.
But how could the pulmonary embolism even happen?
According to Effenberg, she didn't move enough after her hip surgery because she could only walk on crutches.
The fact that she only survived by a hair's breadth still upsets the 58-year-old to this day.
“I still can’t believe I’m standing here and healthy,” she admits.
