Cosmoprof opens in Miami, Florida.

The calendar of the trade fair network inaugurates 2024 with a new novelty: the first edition of Cosmoprof North America – Miami will be held from 23 to 25 January, alongside the traditional appointment with Cosmoprof North America – Las Vegas scheduled for July.

The new event was warmly welcomed by Italian companies: there are 50 companies in our country, including finished products (brands and third parties) and production chains, which have confirmed their presence.

Cosmoprof North America – Miami is in fact proposed as a window to explore business opportunities throughout the American continent and specifically with particular attention to Latin American operators.

"Once again the Cosmoprof network confirms itself as a fundamental pillar for the valorisation of our companies abroad: the new stage in Miami opens up a range of opportunities for all companies wishing to strengthen their presence on foreign markets", he commented Benedetto Lavino, president of Cosmetica Italia.

Internationalization remains fundamental for the Italian cosmetics industry, over 40% of whose production is destined for export.

The estimates for the end of 2023 indicate a growth in Italian cosmetic exports compared to 2022 (+15%) and a further positive trend for next year (+10%)".

The central-southern area of ​​the American continent represents approximately 4% of the total exports of the Italian cosmetics industry, but shows - underlines Cosmetica Italia - strong growth dynamics: between the first nine months of 2023 and the same period of 2022 the Exports to this destination recorded a positive change of 42% with a value close to 200 million euros.

Among the most requested cosmetics produced in Italy in this region, alcoholic perfumery comes in first place, which concentrates over half of Italian cosmetic exports to Central and South America.

This is followed by hair care which holds a value share of 30% and skin care with 13%.

The value of exports to the USA in the first nine months of 2023 was over 716 million euros (+40% compared to the same period of the previous year), equal to approximately 14% of total Italian cosmetic exports.

Also in this geographical area, the most requested category of Made in Italy cosmetics is alcoholic perfumery, followed by make-up and skin care cosmetics.
