Desirée Nick was crowned the first jungle queen on “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” in 2004.

Today she doesn't have much interest in the format anymore.

Berlin – Twenty years ago, the RTL reality format “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” went on air.

In season 2 - which was broadcast in autumn 2004 - Desirée Nick (67) was the first jungle queen to win the crown.

Now

the entertainer talks about the negative direction in which she believes the format has developed and particularly criticizes the current candidates.

Desirée Nick criticizes the new generation of jungle camps

“What I achieved in tests – the maximum number of stars in each of my nine tests – still has cult status today.

“I set standards that could never be caught up again,” explains Desirée Nick in an interview with

.

There is little evidence of this fighting spirit in today's jungle camp generation.

“Today the Insta participants are drumming on their chests when they get three stars in exams,” said the Berlin native.

Nick also criticizes the fact that today's candidates no longer deal with the format.

Jungle King 2022 Filip Pavlović was also surprised when Desirée Nick stood in front of the camera with him for the program “The Secret of the Jungle Crown”, which will be broadcast three days before the final.

“Don’t you inform yourself when you take part in such a format?” the artist is said to have asked the reality star.

He succinctly denied that.

Desirée Nick about current jungle camp candidates: “For me, these are empty biographies”

Desirée Nick also makes it clear in the interview that she doesn't have much left for candidates who can only look back on reality, trash and dating formats.

“For me, these are empty biographies,” says the singer, who views the popular TV format with skepticism.

“I am very critical if the staff at 'IBES' develops in this direction.

An entertainment factor does not come from a series of television formats, but from a life lived.

“Wisdom, wit and warts,” said the 67-year-old.

Desirée Nick is anything but satisfied with the development of the RTL format “I'm a Star - Get Me Out of Here!”.

Nick makes it clear that appearing on TV “sandblasted, tattooed or with a busted size” doesn’t mean you’re a successful star.

“Not everyone who won at 'IBES' is a winner,” explains the jungle queen from 2004. In her opinion, many only won “because they were the least of the evils” or “sailed under the radar”.

“Where are the traces that Jenny Frankhauser left behind as a winner?

What moments do you remember about Maren Gilzer?” asks Desirée Nick.

“Landing on the throne does not necessarily mean triumphing as a victor.”
