Is winter already over for this season?

A meteorologist gives an outlook for the coming days - hurricane gusts are to be expected in certain regions.

Munich - Mild temperatures, always rain instead of snow - winter seems to be taking a break in Munich.

And it will stay that way for the time being, says Guido Wolz from the German Weather Service (DWD).

Instead, temperatures are expected to be in the plus range, with occasional rain showers.

But the sun will also shine through again and again in the next few days.

Above all, it will be one thing: stormy.

Hurricane gusts in the Alps – it will be stormy again in Munich too

“To summarize with one catchphrase: there is no winter in sight in Munich and the surrounding area, at least until next week,” says the weather expert.

Things will remain very changeable until the weekend.

After the people of Munich had already endured extremely stormy days a few weeks ago, they will have to prepare for it again, especially on Wednesday (January 24th): “There will be hurricane gusts on the Alpine peaks and even at lower altitudes there will be isolated gusts of force ten up to eleven is not excluded.” We can also expect very mild temperatures of around eleven to fourteen degrees.

It stays that way on Thursday (January 25th).

However, including isolated rain showers.

“The sun is becoming rare and the wind is becoming significantly weaker,” says Guido Wolz.

He expects similar weather on Friday (January 26th).

It is advisable to take an umbrella with you because: “It probably won’t stay dry, rain and showers have to be expected.”

The weekend will be cooler, but the sun will be out

Just in time for the weekend it will get a little cooler again.

The meteorologist is expecting around six to eight degrees for Saturday - but with a little more sun.

This can be seen even more, especially on Sunday: “It will remain dry and there will be mild temperatures around nine to twelve degrees with occasional sunshine,” predicts Wolz for Sunday.

So no winter in sight, probably not from next week either.

Wolz says that it is hardly possible to make a precise prediction about another onset of winter beyond this period.

“But ensemble forecasts do not initially indicate this, even after the middle of the week.”
