Small local political sensation: Olching's mayor Andreas Magg (SPD) wants to run for district administrator in the next local elections in two years.
Fürstenfeldbruck/Olching - The long-time mayor of Olching Andreas Magg (45) wants to inherit District Administrator Thomas Karmasin: Magg made this ambition public in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The SPD board in the subdistrict is behind Magg, the delegates still have to confirm the application, but this is considered highly likely.
Magg has been mayor of Olching since 2008, has two children and has been a member of the district council for 20 years.
Magg is an active firefighter and chairman of the BRK in the district.

FFB newsletter.)
The SPD politicians Kathrin Sonnenholzner (former member of the state parliament), Herbert Kränzlein (former mayor of Puchheim and member of the state parliament), Michael Schrodi (member of the Bundestag) and Daniel Liebetruth (district council) pledged their full support to Magg on Tuesday.
Magg's motto: Design instead of just managing.
With his application for the office of district administrator, Magg will no longer run for the office of mayor of Olching in the 2026 local elections.
Who are the opponents?
It is still officially unclear who wants to become district administrator for the CSU in the 2026 local elections, although observers certainly expect Karmasin to run again.
Other parties have not yet announced their candidates either.
Magg justified the early timing of the public announcement by saying that he needed time to get to know all the circumstances in the district in more detail in addition to his mayoralty.
