The Green Party leader Lasse Petersdotter has defended the controversial use of an automatic deletion function for messenger services by Social Affairs Minister Aminata Touré (Greens).
“Deleting chat messages is common and sensible,” he said on Tuesday in the Kiel state parliament.
However, it is important that file-relevant chats are documented accordingly.
Kiel - Touré came under criticism because of automatically deleted chats.
The background to the allegations were files relating to the departure of former State Secretary Marjam Samadzade, which were presented by the Ministry of Social Affairs following a decision by the Interior and Legal Affairs Committee.
During the debate about the files, it emerged that the minister was using the deletion function.
As a rule, politicians' phones are not hacked - but those around them are hacked, Petersdotter continued.
These do not have the protective measures of the ministers and yet you can still access the relevant chat messages.
Therefore, it is not uncommon to have self-deleting chats.
The parliamentary group leader also set up this function - but he is not required to file.
