After two postponements of his retirement, Luc Deloizy, 66, the only doctor in the village of La Ferté-Chevresis (Aisne) which has 550 inhabitants, will hang up his coat for good on March 31.
Since October 1, he has been working under the status of combined employment/retirement in order to allow his 2,500 patients to be treated correctly.
A situation that he does not intend to continue if the administration does not exempt him from tax.
“I am taxed on my activity, on my retirement and on my supplementary retirement.
I would earn almost as much if I stayed at home.
But if I go to a tax office to ask for this favor, they will call 15!
» says the general practitioner with humor.

A few days ago, elected officials from neighboring municipalities and around 200 patients participated in a meeting on this subject at the town hall of La Ferté-Chevresis.
“They are worried but don’t blame me,” says Luc Deloizy.
Surrounding practices are no longer taking new patients and other doctors will retire this year.

I'm waiting for him at the door.
I leave the keys with him.
The town hall is ready to rent my premises for free even though it costs 800 euros.
