A man from Memmingen brought rail traffic to a standstill at Rosenheimer Platz.

His attack on the police has serious consequences.

Munich - A 32-year-old man caused chaos at Rosenheimer Platz in Munich on Tuesday afternoon, January 23rd.

During rush hour he blocked the track area and was “aggressive and unreasonable,” reports the Munich Federal Police.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. when the man from Memmingen inexplicably walked into the track area.

Deutsche Bahn Security employees recognized the danger and pulled him out of the track area.

The driver of an approaching S-Bahn recognized the situation in time, braked and did not enter the stop.

Due to the man's aggressive behavior, the security forces called the federal police.

Man blocks tracks in Munich and attacks police officers

When the police arrived, the man was again in the track area, but left at the officers' instructions.

He appeared aggressive and unreasonable towards the emergency services.

Since his personal belongings were still on the tracks, a short-term track closure was initiated in order to retrieve them.

Suddenly the man tried to hit a 28-year-old federal police officer, but missed and was taken to the ground and handcuffed.

He kicked around and hit a 32-year-old officer.

Despite the pain, he remained fit for duty.

On the way to the federal police station at the Ostbahnhof, he massively insulted and threatened the officers.

Due to severe mood swings, an ambulance was called to check his health.

The Memminger was then taken to a Munich hospital.

The public prosecutor ordered a court appearance for the next day and the Munich district court ordered a blood sample.

Federal police are investigating bodily harm

The federal police are now investigating resistance and attacks on law enforcement officers, bodily harm, insults and threats.

In addition, a fine procedure will be initiated for unauthorized stay in the track area.

Despite the track closure, the impact on rail traffic was only minor.
